On June 22, 2022, Guangdong Electric Vehicle Chamber of Commerce, together with Guangdong Power Battery Standardization Technical Committee and Guangdong Light Electric Vehicle Standardization Technical Committee, organized the second seminar of two group standards, namely, Technical Specifications for Lithium Ion Batteries and Batteries for Electric Bicycles and General Rules for Quality Grading Evaluation of Electric Bicycles. The meeting was held in video format and hosted by Meng Canfang, Vice Minister of Technology Department of Guangdong Electric Vehicle Chamber of Commerce.

      At the meeting, Huang Zhenze, Vice Minister of Guangdong Quality Inspection Institute, said that the formulation of the two group standards was of great significance, which would play a positive role in strengthening the quality supervision of electric bicycle products and promoting the sustainable and healthy development of the electric vehicle industry. He hoped that everyone could put forward more valuable suggestions on the content of the standards from research and development, production, sales and other aspects, so as to effectively promote the formulation of the standards.

      In the morning, experts from Leasun New Energy, Xinneng'an, Yadi, Xinri, Xiaoniu, Jitai Chemical, Hualiyuan, Shangyixin, Zhongli, Desai, HKUST, Mobile Communication, Edbond, Plefon, Mammoth and other units participated in the standard seminar of Technical Specifications for Lithium Ion Batteries and Battery Packs for Electric Bicycles. Dr. Liang Zhiyong, a senior engineer of Guangdong Quality Inspection Institute, and Li Chunnan, an engineer, reported on the solicitation of standard opinions in the previous stage and explained whether more than 80 opinions were adopted or not. At the same time, the experts at the meeting fully discussed the battery and battery pack electrical performance requirements, safety requirements, battery management system, test methods and other aspects of the standard draft, put forward suggestions for modification, and clarified the work direction for the next step of standard preparation.

In the afternoon, experts from Lingxun New Energy, Tailing, Yadi, Emma, Xiaodao, Lvyuan, Xinri, Wuyang Honda, Xiaoniu, No.9, Ongqin Plastics, Benling and other units participated in the standard seminar of General Rules for Quality Grading and Evaluation of Electric Bicycle Products. First, the Chamber of Commerce reported the standard work content of the previous stage, then Chen Senkai and Li Ning, engineers of Guangdong Quality Inspection Institute, explained the 35 opinions collected, and Zhu Jiangting, the project engineer, organized enterprise representatives to conduct in-depth discussions on the evaluation indicators such as physical quality, quality assurance, and enterprise comprehensive capacity in the standard. All of them put forward relevant handling opinions and suggestions, laying a solid foundation for the next step of work.

      As the project establishment and centralized management unit of the above standards, Guangdong Electric Vehicle Chamber of Commerce will give full play to its leading role, organize technical experts to actively contribute their wisdom, effectively promote the standard formulation, constantly improve the construction of relevant standard systems in the field of electric bicycles, and promote high-quality development of the industry.
